Blah!

That's how I am feeling today. Once again, I think my allergies have gotten the best of me. My head is killing me and I am full of bright green snot. It never fails, once school starts, I automatically get shredded by allergies. Weird, no?  Tootsie if you are reading this, you need to not be reading this and be on your way over to help me out ... you feel sorry for me right?

On the plus side, I have workers here all week getting Cole's room together and doing various handy jobs around the house. I'm not sure if I told you guys, but  we have made the executive decision to stay in our house until next Spring. We are turning my studio (weep!weep!) into Cole's new room and then Cole's current nursery will be Miss Birtha's (formally known as the string bean) room. I painted this cool looking brick design on one of the walls in Cole's new room, remind me and I'll post pictures. The rest of the walls were painted blue and the bathroom is now a lovely green. Right now as we speak I hear Melvin hammering away down there putting in our new hardwood floors. I keep holding myself back from peeping because I want to wait and see the finished product. Finally, we're getting shit done around here at the Harris house ... It's a good feeling.

On another random note ... any pregnant women out there worried about the swine flu? The news is freaking me out...especially since that one prego chic in Texas recently died from it. Is anyone out there planning on getting the shot?

I asked my OBGYN about the shot and she didn't seem overly concerned about the swine flu. She just said to get the regular shot and then call at the first sign of ANY flu like symptoms. I'm really not that worried about it but I tend to try to stay away from media because I believe they hype it up too much. As long as I keep myself santized, I'm not too worried about it.

Are you feeling better? ALL my sickness finally went away at 13 weeks - yay! And I find out in 1 week from today what I'm having. I'm jealous you found out so early. Congrats on the girl!! Gotta love the PINK!

Another pregnant girl died from it here in Texas?? Where have I been?!? Yes, I'm scared about it. I went to the doctor yesterday and he didn't mention anything about getting the vaccine (but I didn't ask either-oops!). I just am having a hard time deciding whether or not to get it because everytime RJ gets the flu shot he gets the flu. I, on the other hand, have never gotten the shot, and don't remember getting the flu. Strep Throat, upper resporatory infection, blah blah blah from those little snotty kindergarteners, yes- but the flu no because I became the sanitizer nazi. I don't know, I talked to another preggy woman in Florida and she said they don't even know the correct strands to give for the swine flu-- they are just guessing. I don't know, either way I'm scared! You know my luck.

Ha, laughing at the timing of this post?! Before this week, I was trying not to think too much about it (do I really need/want to have anxiety about stuff you can't completely control?). Just planned on doing the best I could to stay away from sick folks. As you know, my sister-in-law has the swine flu so now I can't help be a little freaked out...especially since Michael is so worried. He knows how dangerous it can be for kiddos and pregos. At the end of the day, all we can do is just be cautious though. That being said, we decided that I'm definitely getting the shot as soon as it becomes available....

PS I'm very excited to see all the re-decorating at your home for the babies! :)
